G4 Support Choir
The musically acclaimed quartet G4 announced a reunion tour in 2015 to tour all over the UK. Rock Choir were asked to support the tour. Maxine and 32 members from across her 4 Rock Choirs joined G4 for their Burnley concert. Several intense rehearsals paid off and G4 were blown away by the standard and volume produced by Maxine’s G4 choir.
The Mojitos
One of the bands Maxine sings with is called ‘The Mojitos’ – with Alex on guitar and Wayne on bass, the trio have been playing in Warrington and Sandbach lately. They play a mix of golden oldies and current songs.
Destination Florida Summer Ball
Maxine and Greater Manchester Rock Choir have done several performances now with Destination Florida. This is a great children’s charity based in the North West of England who specialise in organising sunshine holidays to Florida for children between the ages of seven to fifteen who have missed out on the fun and laughter of childhood due to illness. The holidays are a week long and are meticulously organised with a full medical team of experienced doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and carers enabling the children to be given their normal medical treatment, yet still enjoying a holiday of a lifetime. They create the dream that very few have a chance of achieving. The summer ball took place at the Palace Hotel in Manchester. The Rock Choir performed several songs whilst the guests enjoyed their meals.
Chamboree
Maxine plays in a steel band with her father and other members of the Cherrie family. This summer they worked with Girlguiding Cheshire and Cheshire Scouts to perform at the ‘City Zone’ activity. During the course of a week 3,000 Scouts and Guides took part in a large scale camp called Chamboree. They got to go out on a city experience which involved a number of workshops and a treasure hunt around the city of Liverpool. The day concluded with a finale which featured Maxine and her father playing the steel drums to create a great carnival atmosphere.
