BBC Proms in the Park

Maxine joined 80 other Rock Choir leaders and over 10,000 members in Hyde Park, London, for BBC Proms in the Park. Maxine took to the stage with the other leaders to open the show, followed by the biggest Rock Choir flash mob ever staged, singing ‘Dancing in the Street’. The leaders also led the Last Night of the Proms traditional songs at the end of the evening, including Land of Hope and Glory and Jerusalem.

Rick Astley and Maggies on the Runway

Maggies on the Runway is an event to raise money for the Maggies Centre at The Christie hospital. It takes place underneath Concorde at Manchester airport. Maxine was delighted to be asked by the event organiser to take over 70 members of Greater Manchester Rock Choir to perform for both the afternoon and evening guests. In addition to performing Rock Choir songs, the choir also performed alongside Rick Astley, with backing vocals to his song ‘Angels on my Side’.

Rock Choir Express

Maxine and Greater Manchester Rock Choir took over the East Lancashire Railway for a weekend, as the ‘Rock Choir Express’ carried her members up and down the line, performing at the stations along the route. They battled blizzards, rain, sunshine and everything in between for a memorable and unique weekend of singing and fun.

Sons of Pitches

Maxine took a number of her Greater Manchester Rock Choir members to the Lowry Theatre in Manchester, where they performed before Sons of Pitches took to the stage. Sons of Pitches celebrated the world of TV in a vocal adventure, including performances of famous TV themes, sketches about panel shows, talent shows, quiz shows and more.

Denise Welch Winter Ball

Maxine and members of her Greater Manchester Rock Choir performed at the ‘Denise Welch Winter Ball’, at Event City in Manchester. The glamorous event, which is themed extravagantly each year, transported guests to the city that never sleeps where they experienced a magical New York Christmas.

The Choir That Rocks – Live

Almost 300 members from Greater Manchester Rock Choir came together to perform in a big summer show in the theatre at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. On Saturday 16th June, they performed a wide range of their repertoire, old and new. You can see some video clips on the rockchoirgmr YouTube page.
